New Delhi: Oppo's latest mid-ranger, Oppo Neo, has been officially launched in Indonesia. The Oppo Neo handset is listed for IDR 2,599,000 (roughly Rs. 13,000) which gives a quite compelling reason to have one. It is not clear when the handset will reach other markets.
The device comes with a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display offering screen resolution of 854 x 480, which is a mere 217ppi, falling below the “naked eye” threshold of 250ppi. The phone comes in both single and dual-SIM variants and features its own Oppo ColorOS skin on top of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The handset measures 132 x 65.8 x 9.2mm, which is pretty thin for the price range, and weighs just 130 grams.
The Neo is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core CPU (has an unspecified processor architecture and RAM). The camera options included are a 5-megapixel rear shooter and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. From the specifications provided, the Oppo Neo seems to miss out on an LED flash.
At the back, Neo comes with a 5MP snapper, while at the front, there's a 2MP camera for video chatting. The phone records up to 720p videos.
According to the company, the Neo comes with a "Quick Reach" feature which includes gesture-based movements by the user to trigger other features on the smartphone. It also offers smart Dual-SIM and Gloves Mode features.
The phone gets its juice from a 1,900 mAh battery and is available in Indonesian market with Rp 2,599,000 or around $220 price tag per unit.
