New Delhi: It seems like the Oppo N1 mini is no longer a mystery. Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has just launched Oppo N1 mini, the compact variant of its Oppo N1 smartphone, in Malaysia.
The device, which comes with a rotating camera just like its elder sibling Oppo N1, is likely to be launched in August in India.
The company has earlier launched the N1 mini in China in June, pricing it at 2699 yuan (Rs 26,600 approximately).
Oppo N1 mini comes with a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with 1.6GHz Cortex-A7 processor and Adreno 305 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory (there is no expandable storage support). The smartphone sports a rotating 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 sensor camera, that can be swivelled (turned) back and forth, ands has LED flash. Users will be able to use the same camera lens to capture images via the front and the back by just rotating the lens.
Interestingly, the front snapper supports shooting in 24 megapixel ultra HD mode, and is easily set to be one of its selling points. The Sony lens employed by Oppo for the N1 mini has a sensor size of 1/3.2" and uses the Super Zoom mode first found on the Oppo Find 7, to produce 24MP photos.
N1 Mini is a single-SIM smartphone that runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the company's custom skin, ColorOS 1.4, on top of it.
Connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G LTE and 3G. The smartphone gets its juice from a 2140mAh battery which measures 148.4x72.2x9.2mm and weighs 150 grams. It comes in White, Blue and Yellow colour options.
The launch announcement in Malaysia was made via Oppo Malaysia's Facebook page where an image with key specifications of the handset was uploaded on July 31 along with the caption, "OPPO's latest N1 mini is available now at all OPPO Stores/Dealers nationwide! Do check out the 5 inch sibling of our World's First Rotating Camera Smartphone!"
