New Delhi: Making its foray into Microsoft's mobile operating system, homegrown handset maker Micromax has finally launched two new budget Windows Phone 8.1 smartphones - Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092, at Rs 9,500

New Delhi: Making its foray into Microsoft's mobile operating system, homegrown handset maker Micromax has finally launched two new budget Windows Phone 8.1 smartphones - Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092, at Rs 9,500 and Rs 6,500, respectively. The phones will be available starting July.

The Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092 are built by Micromax in association with Microsoft and Qualcomm.

Micromax Canvas W121 comes with a 5-inch 720p display, an 8MP rear camera with flash and a 2MP front-facing camera and has 8GB internal storage expandable to 32GB via microSD card. It gets its juice from a 2000mAh battery. It has proximity, gravity, and light sensors, an accelerometer, Dual-SIM capability, and comes with a leather finish back panel.

Micromax Canvas W092 offers a 4-inch WVGA IPS display, a 5MP rear camera with flash and a 0.3MP front-facing camera and has 8GB internal storage expandable to 32GB via microSD card. It comes with a 1,500mAh battery.

Both devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200, which is a low-end Cortex-A7 1.2 GHz quad core processor and both feature 1 GB of RAM, along with Dual-SIM support.

While launching the devices at an event in New Delhi, Micromax Executive Chairman Sanjay Kapoor said, "We are the first Indian brand that has brought devices that operate on the Windows 8.1 update."

Dr Avneesh Agrawal of Qualcomm India said he is confident that this partnership will help make Windows Phone a big success in India.
