New Delhi: Taking on Xiaomi in the budget smartphone arena, Micromax has launched the Canvas Nitro A310, which will exclusively retail through the ecommerce player Snapdeal. Priced at Rs 12,990, the device offers everything that makes it a strong competitor to Xiaomi Mi3.
In terms of design, the phone offers a metallic RIM, with rear section offering leather back panel finish – somewhat resembling to that of Samsung's Galaxy S5's back panel.
The device comes with 5-inch IPS, 720p HD display and is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor along with 3GB of RAM.
Internal storage includes 8GB which can be further expanded by using microSD card slot.
It is a dual-SIM device that comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera.
The smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat and comes loaded with Micromax content stores and apps. Software enhancements include Smart Alerts, Trending Apps, Camera Widget, Smart Gesture, BlinkScreen and more.
The device also features a lock screen notifications system and an HTC Blink Feed-like Quick Look home screen feed.
Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. The device gets its juice from a 2500mAh battery and comes in white and blue colour variants.
Overall, it seems like Micromax has brought in a solid contender to compete with Xiaomi Mi3, Moto G (2nd generation) and Asus Zenfone 5.
