New Delhi: Homegrown handset maker Micromax has launched the Canvas mAD A94, with a built-in app that pays you for watch ads, for Rs 8,490.

The launch of the smartphone follows the culmination of Micromax's 'Mad About Ads' teaser campaign.

The phone comes pre-loaded with Micromax MAd A94 app, which allows registered users on Micromax MAd A94 handsets to earn redeemable points by watching advertisements (once).

The company will convert the points earned to real world money and credit it to your prepaid or postpaid account. For now the service will be open only to Micromax MAd A94 smartphone.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pxiels) display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 512MB of RAM. The device runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Other features include 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card, a 5-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and a 1,800mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for 5 hours of talktime and 150 hours on standby mode. Connectivity options include, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. The phone competes against the likes of the ZTE Blade G2 and Spice Stellar Mi 495.
