New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker, has officially revealed the details of its new car Celerio on a dedicated website. The model is slated to debut at the Auto Expo 2014 in Delhi next month. The company has also started accepting the booking of the model.
The Celerio comes with ‘EZ Drive' (an Automated Manual Transmission), variants of which return 23.1 kmpl in the ARAI mileage test.
While the Celerio will replace the current generation Alto in most international markets, in the domestic market, it would replace both the AStar, and the already discontinued Estillo.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be powered by a 1.0 liter, three pot, K10 petrol engine that also powers the Alto K10, the WagonR, the AStar and the Estilo. The engine delivers 69 bhp.
The images posted by the carmaker on the dedicated website shows the car's steering-mounted controls for audio system, manual AC controls, 235-liter boot space, five-speed manual transmission option, fixed headrests for the front seats, map pocket on the co-driver seat back, dual tone interior and blinkers on door mirrors.
The Celerio was represented in the concept form last year at the Thai Motor Expo by the Suzuki A:Wind.
The company says Celerio Automatic will not be priced significantly higher than that of its manual transmission.
