New Delhi: Korean mobile manufacturer LG has said it plans to launch LG G Pro 2, the successor to LG Optimus G Pro, in February. The smartphone's launch is likely to happen right around MWC 2014, which is scheduled to be held from February 24 to February 27 in Barcelona.

The LG G Pro 2 is believed to come with a 6-inch display size along with a full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixel) resolution. The next model is equipped with a 6-inch screen and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB RAM and is powered by Google's Android 4.4, according to the source.

With the new launch, the company will have a premium smartphone line-up LG G and G2, as well as its phablet series of LG G Pro and G Pro 2.

The company has already tasted good success with its past G series hardware. The company says the original Optimus G, the Optimus G Pro and the G2 have all enjoyed domestic sales of over 1 million units each. It also says consumers have liked the Optimus G Pro's full HD display and the custom LG user interface that came preloaded on each unit.

Last year, the company also rolled out the G Flex, which has a 6-inch plastic organic light-emitting diode display that curves inward from top and bottom.
