New Delhi: Lava has launched a new camera-centric smartphone, the Lava Iris 504Q+, that comes equipped with Sony's Exmor sensor. The handset costs Rs 13,990.

Lava Iris 504Q+ is the successor of Lava Iris 504Q, and comes with some modifications to the original device and is a worthy upgrade.

The device sports an edged look and is well built with sturdy design. The phone comes with a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The display has Asahi dragon-trail glass coating that said to make the display quite tough.

"This phone offers tough resistance to screen breakage even in the worst case scenarios. In fact, it has been pegged as a device that's tougher than the toughest as the glass used for the screen is six times stronger than any conventional touch screen glass," claims Lava.

It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, Mali 400 GPU, and 1 GB RAM. It has got decent 8 GB internal storage of which 5.33 GB is available for users. There is a memory card slot in the Iris 504Q+ which can accommodate up to a 32 GB micro SD card.

The highlight of the device is its 10 megapixel auto focus rear camera that comes with Sony IMX 179 sensor with sensor size of 1/3.2-inch and pixel size of 1.4 µm. It also has a 2 megapixel camera is in the front while an LED flash is in the back besides the rear camera.

The smartphone gets its juice from a 2000 mAh Li-Po battery which said to provide 200 hours of standby with single SIM. The phone is quite slim in itself with a thickness of 7.9 mm but it is a bit heavier (149 grams). Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, and GPS.

At Rs 13,999, the phone is definitely a good option amidst the budget smartphone options.
