10 hottest gadgets at Mobile World Congress 2014

Barcelona: At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, some of the biggest tech players unveiled and showcased plenty of smartphones, gadgets and related stuff. The annual mobile extravaganza has been the coming-out party for some of the most exciting and important phones ever made. Take a look at some of them:Samsung Galaxy S5 The Samsung Galaxy S5 is the latest challenger from the South Korean brand to launch into an ever more crowded market. The Galaxy S5 takes the DNA of S4 and improves on it in most areas. The S5 comes with a 5.1 inche screen and offers a 1080x1920 pixel full-HD resolution. At the centre of the new S5 is its quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, which runs at a blistering 2.5GHz. This chip, paired with 2GB of RAM. The device runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The Galaxy S5 has a 16MP camera that comes with an LED flash, and Samsung boasts that it has the fastest autofocus around - up to 0.3 seconds. The Galaxy S5 offers the same IP67 waterproof and dustproof powers as its Sony Xperia rivals. Samsung Gear FitSamsung is betting big on fitness in wearables and is releasing a number of products to appeal to a number of market segments. Samsung has launched its Gear Fit smartband which has a primary function of letting you track when you walk, run, cycle or hike. Smaller and lighter than the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches, the Gear Fit fitness band is focused on health. The Samsung Gear Fit features a 1.84-inch Super AMOLED display with a 432 x 128 pixel resolution. The Gear Fit comprises of a pedometer, heart rate monitor, and a sleep monitor. Other built-in functions include a fitness app, exercise mode, stopwatch, timer, schedule, smart relay, media controller. The Gear Fit would be available in Black, Grey, and Orange colour variants, apart from different colour and designer straps as well.Nokia X Android phone At MWC, Nokia launched its affordable range of Android smartphones, the Nokia X family, whcih includes Nokia X, X+, and XL. The Nokia X features a 4" IPS LCD display of WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the entire Nokia X range shares the same 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset, with only the X somewhat limited at 512MB of RAM. Internal storage is just 4GB, but is expandable up to 32GB.At the back of the Nokia X there's a 3MP fixed focus camera, but no front-facer. The phone weighs 129 grams and packs a 1500mAh battery. It's good for 10.5 hours of 3G talk time and a maximum standby time of 17 days. It is also capable of up to 26 hours of music playback, while video playback time is quoted at 8.4 hours. The Nokia X offers a superb built quality.Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo Almost six months after launching its Android-based Galaxy Gear smartwatch, Samsung is ready to start flooding the market with more smartwatch models. Samsung has unveiled the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, two new smartwatch models that resemble the Galaxy Gear. For starters, the new Gears do not run Android. Instead, they have Samsung's Tizen OS on board. In terms of specs, both the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo are very similar, although the latter does not have a camera. The Gear 2 packs a 2-megapixel camera with HD video recording. Both smartwatches have a 1.64-inch Super AMOLED display with 320 x 320 resolution, a 1.0GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a 300 mAh battery and the Tizen OS.HTC Desire 816 HTC has launched Desire 816 at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. The good part about the Desire 816 range is that it is patterned after the HTC One range -- but in plastic. The device comes with a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels resolution) display and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. It offers 8GB of internal storage and gives support for microSD cards up to 128GB. In addition, the device offers a 13-megapixel f2.2 rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset gets its juice from a 2600mAh battery. HTC Desire 816 will offer LTE and HSPA+ (up to 42Mbps) connectivity options.Sony Xperia Z2 The Sony Xperia Z2 just got official as the company unveiled the new 5.2-inch flagship smartphone over at MWC 2014. The phone main feature is Sony's 20.7MP camera - it's an Exmor RS for mobile image sensor featuring the award-winning G Lens. The handset can capture videos in 4K resolution. It is backed up by Android KitKat, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor - a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait CPU. Furthermore, it has 4G LTE connectivity, NFC, 3GB of RAM and a 3200mAh battery to give you that revitalizing experience. LG G2 Mini LG officially unveiled its much-anticipated smartphone, LG G2 mini, which is the compact version of the company's current flagship model, the LG G2. LG G2 mini will run on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS, and features a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with a qHD (540x960 pixels) resolution. The device will be available in single SIM, dual-SIM, 3G, and 4G LTE variants, along with four colour options - Titan Black, Lunar White, Red, and Gold. The handset comes with different chipsets for different variants, with the LTE and 3G versions featuring 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processors - MSM8926 for LTE, and MSM8226 for 3G. The Latin America LTE variant (LATAM LTE) will feature a 1.7GHz Nvidia Tegra 4i chipset. All variants of the LG G2 mini will also come with a 1GB of RAM. The device's camera options will include an 8-megapixel rear (with flash support) and a 1.3-megapixel front facing shooter.Huawei TalkBand Huawei unveiled the TalkBand B1 over at MWC 2014. It is basically a wristband with a 1.4-inch flexible OLED display. The device promises to track sleep patterns as well as steps taken, calories burned and so on. The device comes with a detachable Bluetooth earpiece that you can use for taking calls.The Blackphone The Blackphone runs on a customized version of Google's Android software. It encrypts texts, voice calls, and video.
