New Delhi: Clearly, the Consumer Electronics Show 2014, was the wildest, awe-inspiring tech show of the whole year. And thanks to trends including wearables, cutting-edge display technology, 3D printers, robotic toys, and smart cars, the emerging product categories were truly exciting this time around.Clearly, the star attraction of the show was the rise of so-called wearable technology, like 'smart' watches and glasses that can monitor fitness and activity while updating emails and social media accounts and taking photos."From curved and flexible Ultra HD TVs and next-generation smart phones, to drones, robots, sensors, the internet of everything, Hi-Res audio, connected cars and 3D printers, it seems like the only thing missing from the 2014 CES was a time-travel machine," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).As one of the largest global gatherings for the consumer electronics and technology industry, the CES is considered to be the launch pad for many innovative consumer devices, ranging from curved and flexible Ultra HD TVs and next-generation smart phones, to drones, robots, sensors, the internet of everything, Hi-Res audio, connected cars and 3D printers. Here are best of them:Socialmatic cameraPolaroid announced it will turn the Socialmatic concept camera into a real product in 2014, so your social-media images can also be instant prints in the real world. The Android-based Socialmatic takes a two-pronged approach to sharing the images captured with its 14MP front camera and 2MP back camera. Built-in Wi-Fi lets you upload the pics to your favorite social media sites. A built-in ink-less printing system also lets you produce 2x3-inch prints with sticker backings so you can plaster your masterpieces all over the real world as well. It uses heat-activated Zink paper, which costs about $30 for 80 sheets. It takes under a minute to print out an image. There is really no need to shake them.Goji Smart LockKeys are so 2013. With the Goji Smart Lock, you can get into your house with a few taps on a smartphone or click of a fob. The lock allows users lock and unlock their front door with their smartphone or electronic fobs, give time-controlled access to others via a text message, and see who's at the door even when they're not behind it. It also sends text messages when the lock is activated and archives all access. Goji says it will begin shipping the lock in March; it retails for $278.Netamo's June braceletNetamo's June is an elegant French-designed ladies bracelet that tracks how long you've been exposed to the suns' rays -- and whether the wearer needs to take action to stay safe. Syncing up to a smartphone app, the bracelet and monitors your exposure to UV rays, and if you've been exposed to too much lying in the sun or being outside, it will warn you so you can cover up or apply more sunscreen.DJI Phantom 2 Vision aerial A DJI Innovations DJI Phantom 2 Vision aerial system has a 14-megapixel camera on board that can shoot raw photos and 1080p video. It can be controlled with an iPhone or Android smart phone and has a 25-minute flight time. The unit is available now for $1,199.Panasonic 20' 4K tablet PCThe world's first 4K tablet will begin shipping in the US shortly. At CES 2014, Panasonic debuted its Toughpad 4K UT-MA6 tablet, whose 20-inch screen sports a resolution of 3840 x 2560 pixels. The tablet starts at $5,999, enough to buy 14 iPad Airs. Makerbot Replicator MiniMakerbot announced the Replicator Mini - potentially the first affordable consumer 3D printer for home users. WiFi allows for printing from mobile devices, as well as other interactions like monitoring progress remotely via the built-in camera. The Replicator Mini can print objects just under five inches high. This camera will be bundled into numerous Ultrabooks and tablets by mid-year, and will enable software never before possible. Interactive 3D books, real-time virtual sculpting and on-the-fly video editing are just some of the possibilities hinted at.MyrisVoxx International showed off Myris, a handy-sized gadget that allows people to unlock their computer, phone, or any password-enabled device, simply by gazing at it. This comes on the back of recent iPhones that can be unlocked using a fingerprint scanner. Myris scans eyes and converts each individual's unique identifying data into an encrypted code, according to Voxx.Kolibree: The world's first Internet-connected toothbrushAiming "to reinvent oral care," French-based startup Kolibree showed off its Internet-connected toothbrush, by sending information to a smartphone app which monitors brushing quality and can tell the brusher if they have missed hard-to-reach places on their teeth.Digital 'onesie' for babiesIntel showed off a baby 'onesie' with an embedded computer to track the baby's health. The garment boasts a tiny memory stick-sized computer and a range of sensors that send information like temperature and breathing rates back to a digital display on a connected coffee cup for the parent's perusal.Samsung bendable televisionSamsung has shown off the Bendable TV - an 85in (216cm) prototype that allows the curvature of its screen to be adjusted by remote control. The transition takes just 10 seconds or so. The LED (light-emitting diode) set was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.LaCie Sphere hard driveThis external hard drive comes with 1TB of memory and is beautiful.Panono Panoramic Ball camera takes selfies full circleThis panoramic camera is made up of 36 individual cameras that take a photo when you throw the ball in the air.Scooba 450 is iRobot's Best Floor-Washing Robot YetiRobot released their Scooba 450 full-sized floor washing robot. The robot does a pretty good job in keeping your hardwood and tile floors cleaner. The 450 features an overhauled 3-cycle cleaning system that's three times better than before. While it still cycles water, it now cleans more effectively with its 750ml of on-board water. It features two cleaning modes – a 20 minute short cycle and a 40 minute long cycle with the latter using the entire tank to clean a space up to 300 square feet.Pebble Steel smart watchAt CES 2014, Pebble launches its new $250 Pebble Steel smartwatch which sports a more premium metal look than its predecessor, and has a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass face. Both Pebble Steel and classic Pebble owners will also gain access to the all-new Pebble appstore, which will serve up new wrist watch functions for users.Flir One thermal imagerFLIR Systems Inc. launched its iPhone jacket that contains a heat camera. Temperature differences show up in different colors on the screen. For instance, you can set it to show hotter things in yellow, medium-hot in red and cold in purple. The FLIR One will cost $349, which compares with $995 and up for FLIR's professional thermal imagers.
