New Delhi: 2013 was a promising year in terms of smartphone camera technology as we saw the emergence of a host of new features to our amazement.
A significant trend was one that involved premium smartphones fast catching up with the cameras with larger sensors and features that rival many point-and-shoots – capable of producing some amazing images. Handset makers Nokia and Samsung forged a new frontier on mobile photography by incorporating the technology of a point-and-shoot into the smartphone bundle.
While Nokia launched the 1020 smartphone with a huge 41-megapixel sensor and software that saves huge images for lossless cropping, Samsung came out with Galaxy S4 zoom, an Android-based smartphone that featured a 16-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom.
As we reflect back on the past year and look forward to even more interesting advances in 2014, we're sharing some good smartphones available in the market that offer pretty decent camera features for casual photography.
