Auto Expo 2014: Top five concept cars

Greater Noida: The Auto Expo 2014 gave us the preview of what the future cars will look like. Here are five best of them:Tata Nexon Homegrown auto major Tata Motors unveiled a concept compact sports utility vehicle Nexon giving a glimpse of its future direction in terms of technologies, as it bids to make up lost ground in passenger vehicles market. The concept Nexon is a modern compact SUV, with fresh design and new generation human machine interface technology.Tata ConnectNext Tata also displayed another concept car ConnectNext. The ConnectNext concept car articulates the future of connectivity that connects professional and personal networks.Renault KWID Renault displayed its stunning and overly futuristic, the KWID. It is a radical new citycar SUV concept that it says could come to the UK as a production model in two years' time. At just 3.6m long, the Kwid is even smaller than Renault's Captur supermini SUV and the related Nissan Juke. The car's Tonka-toy proportions with the elevated grille sitting above outsized bumpers are a nod to the expressive Juke, but give a genuine impression that it might work well off-road despite it being two-wheel drive only.Volkswagen Taigun German carmaker Volkswagen showcased its Taigun Concept at the Auto Expo 2014. First shown at Sao Paulo in October 2012, VW has further developed its B-segment SUV concept. The latest Taigun's defining characteristics are its compact dimensions, spacious interior, an efficient high-tech engine and the exterior-mounted spare wheel. The car has wheel arches and bumpers to emphasise the SUV's rugged character. LED spotlights on the roof rails add to the ‘adventure' feel.Chevrolet Adra General Motors unveiled its Chevrolet Adra concept SUV at the Auto Expo. This new concept is to be based on General Motors' global small-vehicle platform, also called Gamma 2. The concept was developed entirely by Indian designers at GM's technical centre in Bangalore. The new Chevrolet Adra will compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster.
