New Delhi: Technology giant Apple has said it will replace the battery on a select number of iPhone 5, free of cost. Earlier Apple made an official announcement that “a very small percentage of iPhone 5 devices may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently.“
The company says it will replace the battery in your iPhone 5 for free if you purchased it between September 2012 and January 2013, and if it falls within a certain serial number range.
The battery replacement process will start from August 22 in U.S. and China. In India and other countries, Apple will start replacing batteries from August 29.
The company says this includes only "a very small percentage" of devices, so it's best to check your device's eligibility.
