New Delhi: American tech giant Apple today re-launched its three-year-old smartphone, iPhone 4 (8GB), in India at Rs 22,900. The phone is available only in black colour.
And despite earlier reports, the phone will not be available with a buyback scheme, which means the phone will cost Rs 22,900, and not Rs 15,000 as was earlier believed in the tech media.
While doing so, Apple has made its intentions clear that it will retain its premium tag, and will not reach out to the mass market? But why not especially when its rival Android operating system has become a household name in a country holding a heavy market share.
Overall, the whole thing appears to be a cruel joke on Indian consumers who desire to own handsets made by Apple.
