Amazon launches new Kindle Paperwhite e-book readers at Rs 10999

New Delhi: Amazon's new Kindle Paperwhite models are now available for pre-order at www.amazon.in. The devices have a release date of February 4, 2014.The new models – the Kindle Paperwhite (Rs 10,999) and Kindle Paperwhite 3G (Rs. 13,999) – are successor to the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Paperwhite 3G models that were launched in the country last June. The new ebook readers come with a higher contrast display, a better built-in light, a faster processor, page flip, improved touch technology, and a few software enhancements.It also comes with a vocabulary builder that compiles words you look up in the dictionary into an easy-to-access list as well as a smart lookup to access information about anything on dictionary or Wikipedia, and in-line footnotes that lets you complete text of each footnote in-line without changing the page.The devices will be available online as well as offline 250 retail outlets across India including E-Zone, Reliance Digital, Croma, UniverCell and Vijay Sales stores located in Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Pune.The new software of Kindle Paperwhite comes integrated with Goodreads, a book lovers' community that Amazon acquired earlier this year.
