Hyderabad: The bilateral trade between Thailand and India is expected to touch USD 12 billion during the current year, Somsak Triamjangarun, Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate General said today.
"The Bilateral trade between Thailand and India reached USD 8 billion in 2014 and is forecast at USD 12 billion this year. Thailand had a trade surplus with India of USD 2 billion last year," Triamjangarun said in an interactive meeting organised by the Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTAPCCI).
A majority of exports to India from Thailand are Chemical Products, Polymers of ethylene propylene, etc in primary forms, precious stones and jewellery, air-conditioning machines and parts among others, the envoy said.
Thailand imports from India include chemicals, ships, boats and floating structures, parts & accessories of vehicles, machinery and spare parts, jewellery including silver bars and gold, vegetables and vegetable products, he added.
