New Delhi: Yoga guru Ramdev launched his Patanjali group's new brand of noodles made out of wheat named 'Atta Noodles' in the capital today.
At the launch of the noodles, Ramdev said the noodles " These noodles will not have any maida (flour) with no added lead or monosodium glutamate (MSG)."
Ramdev also said that noodles would cost Rs 15 per pack . The catchline of the Patanjali noodles is "Jhat pat pakao, aur befikr khao".
The yoga guru said the noodles were completely safe and healthy for consumption, and he was promoting swadeshi products because they were natural and caused no harm.
The Patanjali group owned by Ramdev produces and markets various ayurvedic products. It had a turnover of Rs.1200 crores in 2014 and a projected turnover of Rs.2000 crores in 2015.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had clamped a nationwide ban on June 5 on sale, production and stocking of Maggi, a popular snack in the country. It has been alleged that Maggi contained more-than-permissible levels of lead and high quantities of monosodium glutamate (MSG).
