New Delhi, Oct 28: Apple's iPhone 5 will be available to Indian consumers from next Friday. The much awaited iPhone 5 is likely to be priced at Rs 45,500 for the entry-level 16GB model.
The prices have been confirmed by Redington, one of the two distribution partners of Apple in India, in the country. The 32 and 64GB models will cost you Rs 52,500 and Rs 59,500 respectively.
Apple has formed partnership with Redington and Ingram Micro to distribute its flagship device in the country. These companies already distribute iPad and iPods in the country.
Both black and white versions of the phone are likely to go on sale.
Apple's iPhone 5 has been one of the fastest selling smartphones ever as it broke records for a smartphone by selling 5 million units on its first weekend.
The new phone is 20 per cent lighter and 18 per cent thinner than its predecessor, the iPhone 4S, and has host of impressive new features, including a larger display, faster chip, and improved camera. The new A6 chip in the phone is said to be give users twice the the speed of the old A5 chip as well as an impressive battery life.
