During the Golden Globe awards, the former U.S. President Bill Clinton came on stage to a standing ovation to introduce a clip for the movie Lincoln. "A tough fight to push a bill through a bitterly divided House of Representatives - winning it required the president to make a lot of unsavory deals ... I wouldn't know anything about that," he said.
Reliance owns 51 per cent in DreamWorks, garnered 11 Oscar Nominations for three films – The Help, War Horse and Real Steel. Lincoln also happens to be the first movie Spielberg directed after completing his commitments from other studios. Spielberg bought the film rights to the book before it had even been finished, and handed it to a screenwriter, Tony Kushner, who considers Lincoln to be the ‘greatest democratic leader in the world'.
Spielberg's Lincoln is a historical drama that focuses on many characteristics of the great American president and the final four months of his life. The movie depicts scenes when in January 1865, he used underhand political tactics to outlaw ‘slavery and involuntary servitude' by having the Thirteenth Amendment passed at the House of Representatives.
A magnificent piece of cinema from Spielberg, he movie encompasses an excellent script, a patient direction, and the acting to work the wonders.
