New Delhi: Sirin Labs has officially unveiled its high-end $14,000 (over Rs 9 lakh) Android smartphone, Solarin. The device was launched on Tuesday at an event in London, venturebeat.com reported.
Here are 10 facts you should know:
- The Solarin smartphone comes with a chip-to-chip 256-bit encryption, which is similar to what the military uses to protect communications.
- This new smartphone has a special switch at the back that flips it into a cybersecure mode, which allows only outgoing voice calls and securely encrypted messaging.
- Security is Sirin Labs' main focus and is loaded with features from third-party companies such as mobile security, anti-cyberattack software from Zimperium and more.
- In the back, there's a large sapphire glass cover for the camera lens and flash, also with an integrated fingerprint sensor.
- Sirin Solarin comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and a 5.5 inch IPS LED 2K resolution screen.
- The luxury smartphone has a 24-megapixel main camera with laser autofocus, quad-tone flash, optical image stabilisation and an 8-megapixel front camera with flash.
- The device also supports 4k video recording at 30fps and will give electrical image stabilisation and HD video recording at 60fps.
- The company claims that the device will give a "far superior" Wi-Fi connectivity.
- The smartphone comes with a 4,040mAh li-ion battery, which the company claims to have a talk time of 31 hours (UMTS), standby time of 'over 2 weeks' and Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 support.
- The device will be available at Sirin Labs’ first retail store in Mayfair (34 Bruton Place), London from June 1 and at Harrods, Knightsbridge from June 30.
