New Delhi: Released last year, Samsung received great reviews for the Gear S2 smartwatch for its fun UI and rotating bezel. This year, the tech giant is all set to launch another smartwatch codenamed as Solis.
Solis is a Spanish word which means sun and this clearly indicates that the upcoming Samsung smartwatch will also sport a circular display.
This has been revealed by Sammobile, which is known for its Samsung leaks. According to the rumours, the codename seems to follow up the previous generations’ Orbis, which means orbit.
It is expected that the next generation Samsung smartwatch will also come a rotating bezel, but with more functionalities.
Speculations suggest that the Solis will bear model numbers SM-R760, SM-R765, SM-R770, SM-R765V, and SM-R765S with the last two ones being the carrier variants.
All the previous Gear smartwatches run on Tizen OS and it is expected that even this will have the same operating system.
The Solis smartwatch is expected to sport a 1.84-inch AMOLED display, along with a 4GB memory support and GPS. The device is also rumoured to be water-resistant and can be showcased at the next Samsung Galaxy Note 7 event.
