New Delhi: Irked over non-payment of dues by Reliance Infra-backed discoms - BRPL and BYPL - in Delhi, state-run NTPC on Wednesday said that two firms have not made payment of Rs 993 crore to its joint venture firm APCPL.
"... in spite of DERC directives, no payment has been released by these two discoms for APCPL (Aravali Power Company Pvt Ltd) amounting to Rs 993 crore as on June 14, 2016," NTPC Ltd said in a press statement.
APCPL is a joint venture company with 50 per cent share of NTPC Ltd, 25 per cent of Haryana Power Generation Company Ltd and 25 per cent of Indraprastha Power Generation Company.
The JV runs a 1,500 MW thermal power plant near Village Jharli in District Jhajjar (Haryana).
Earlier last month, NTPC had threatened to snap power supply to BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power (BYPL) -- if they fail to pay around Rs 1,300 crore dues by midnight on May 9.
The company said that subsequent to issue of regulation of power supply notice to BSES Delhi Discoms by NTPC & APCPL (Jhajjar), the BRPL and BYPL have agreed to pay NTPC dues as per the action plan given to it, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission, Delhi Government and Power Ministry.
It further said that the discoms have indicated to pay all NTPC dues by September 2016 and assured that from September/October 2016 onwards, they will maintain outstanding limited to 60 days.
The outstanding dues from these two discoms (i.e. BRPL & BYPL) is amounting to Rs 1,534 crore for NTPC as on June 14, 2016, it added.
