New Delhi: The much awaited OnePlus 3 will officially launch on June 14, Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus announced on Wednesday. However, that is not the only reason OnePlus fans have to rejoice. The Chinese smartphone-maker has decided to abolish the invite system altogether.

Here are the 5 things you need to know:

  1. The biggest news for the launch of the flagship OnePlus 3 is that it will available for buying invite-free from day one. Previously, to get an invitation to buy a OnePlus device, customers had to request one from someone who already owned a device, or complete community engagement tasks on social media. But now, buying the new smartphone will become much easier.
  2. The next thing to note here is that the OnePlus 3 will be launched in a virtual reality environment. The event is being held in the OnePlus headquarters in cyberspace. To watch the event, OnePlus has announced a VR headset called Loop VR. The company is offering the Loop VR headset at just Rs 1 in India on June 3 and June 7.
  3. For India, the launch will start at 10:00 PM on June 14 and the fans in The Loop can purchase the OnePlus 3 exclusively for two hours before anyone else. The Loop VR headsets will only be available to fans who register for it on the Amazon Loop VR page
  4. Another way to get the OnePlus 3 before anyone else does is to participate in the OnePlus 3 critical appreciation program, which has been organised by the company and has been termed ‘trial by fire’. By participating here, fans will be invited to try out and review the phone.
  5. Lastly, the rumoured specifications of the smartphone say that it features a 5.5-inch FullHD display. It comes with a OxygenOS based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. It will come with 4GB/6GB RAM and 32GB/64GB memory variants. The phone is also said to have a 3,000mAh battery and Dash Charging, which is apparently OnePlus' Quick Charge feature.
