New Delhi: Nokia is all set for a comeback to the markets with the release of two new Android smartphones this year.
According to reports by technology website Gizmochina, the phones are expected to be flagship class devices. Some leaked photos showed polycarbonate shells on the phone and the design was almost similar the Nokia N1 tablet last year, although the smartphone was not that large.
Rumours suggest that the smartphones from Nokia will be manufactured by HMD Global, which has a license to make Nokia’s phones for the next 10 years.
Another report by GizmoChina says that the two phones are expected to be flagship devices with Nokia’s trademark design language.
Further, the two phones will reportedly have 5.2 inch and 5.5 inch OLED displays, with QHD resolution. It is expected to come with Snapdragon 820 SoC, along with Nokia’s Z-Launcher, running on Android Nougat. As Android N official launch is likely to happen in October, it is expected that Nokia phones will debut only after the Nexus launch.
There have also been speculations that one of these phones may run the new Snapdragon 821 SoC that Qualcomm announced recently. It will come with a 22.6MP rear camera, along with IP68 certification and a pricing might be 3,000 Yuan (approx. Rs. 30,000).
