New Delhi: In an attempt to keep up with the modern era, the National Informatics Centre (NIC) is now planning to launch an app that would digitalise driving license and related documents.
Tentatively titled M-Parivahan, the app will be able to store e-copies of driving license, vehicle registration certificate and insurance copies.
“M-Parivahan is a comprehensive app for informational and transactional purposes that will allow a citizen to access 20-30 services, including applying for a new licence or its renewal, and will be rolled out nationally in six months,” said a senior scientist at NIC.
Earlier, RTA m-Wallet was launched that helps motorists avoid carrying documents like driving licence, registration certification and other vehicle related papers physically.
The App enables owners and drivers of vehicles to store their documents issued by the Transport Department in digital form, relieving the citizens from carrying them and preventing from loss or misplacement.
Telangana Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao and Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy launched the m- Wallet app.
