New Delhi: Good news for travel lovers! Google is bringing the long awaited multi-stop directions with its new update to mobile phones. It is similar to the web version and the users can swiftly rearrange the order of stops. The feature is currently available for Android users and will be followed by iOS in the near future.
Google Maps with this update will allow you to enter a destination and then add intermediate stops. You will just need to click on the corner menu and then “Add a stop”. You can also create your own waypoint on the route by tapping and holding on the three dot menu on the left. After you have fed all your waypoints, just tap ‘Done’ and your multi-stop route is set.
"Road trip warriors can now get multi-stop directions in Google Maps on Android (coming soon to iOS)," explained Liz Davidoff, Communications Manager for the Google Maps team, in a June 30 blog post.
The post added "Just open the app, enter a destination, tap the corner menu, and then click 'Add a stop'."
Also the users of your timeline on Andorid will be able to mix it with Google Maps if their device's Location History setting is enabled. The feature will record the movements of the user and overlay a map for them, with space for custom notes and pictures.
