New Delhi: Apple, during the launch of the iPhone SE, revealed that the company's flagship Watch will have a price cut and will also come with new bands.
Now, according to reports, Apple Watch is set to get a price cut of Rs 5,000 but it is only restricted to the Apple Watch Sport variant. After the cut, the smartwatch will be available at a starting price of Rs 25,900.
Apple Watch was unveiled in September 2014 and it was released in India in November, 2015. It comes with state-of-art technology-based Taptic Engine and a built-in speaker with new batch of alerts and notifications. Apple also has a custom-designed S1 SiP (System in Package) to miniaturise an entire computer architecture on a single chip.
It runs on the WatchOS user interface. The retina display features Force Touch, a technology that senses the difference between a tap and a press. In terms of connectivity the Apple Watch include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 4.0 to pair seamlessly with an iPhone.
The Apple Watch is slowly catapulting the smartwatch industry and a report said that nearly half of all the smartwatches shipped last year were Apple’s. Also, according to another report, a total of 17.1 million smartwatches were sold worldwide, of which 8.8 million were Apple Watches.
