New Delhi: Along with the iPhone SE, Apple has also launched a compact iPad Pro, a 9.7-inch device, which is said to be 40 per cent less reflective than the iPad Air 2.

An ultimate "PC replacement", iPad Pro will go on sale in select countries from March 31, and will be available in India sometime in early April. 

The new iPad Pro is available in four colour variants - space grey, silver, gold, and rose gold -- and three size capacities -- ranging from 32GB on up to 256GB.

Price: The new iPad Pro is available in three storage variants. The 32GB variant is priced at $ 599 (Rs 39,800 approximately), 128GB variant is priced at $749 (Rs 49,800 approximately), and the 256GB variant costs $899 (Rs 59,800 approximately).

Specification: The new tablet comes with a 9.7-inch ‘True Tone Display’, A9X processor, and M9 motion co-processor. It also has a 12-megapixel iSight camera with support for 4K video recording, an 8-megapixel selfie camera. In terms of connectivity the device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 4G LTE. The tablet runs on Apple’s latest iOS 9.3 operating system.

Features: This mini version of the Pro boasts quad speakers on four sides for enhanced audio experience and a connector port for Smart Keyboard accessory. It also supports ‘Always On’ Hey Siri voice activation.

Launch in India: The iPad Pro 9.7-inch is set to launch in India in early April. In terms of pricing, the 32GB variant with Wi-Fi only connectivity will cost Rs 49,990, whereas the 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular variants will be available at Rs 61,900. However, the pricing of the 128GB and 256GB storage variants is not revealed yet.

Smart Connector: The iPad Pro supports Apple Pencil, which is sold separately from the tablet and costs $99 (Rs. 6,500 approximately). Along with the Pro branding the iPad comes with a Smart Keyboard which acts as a screen cover and will connect to the 9.7-inch iPad Pro via Apple’s own Smart Connector.
