Amazon has launched its Prime subscription service in India, a service which allows customers to opt for free shipping for any product with ‘no minimum order size’. Customers can sign in to Amazon Prime via the Amazon website, starting with a 60-day period to avail for the free trial.
Users who sign up now to Amazon Prime will need to Rs. 499 for a year after the 60-day trial against the usual price of Rs. 999 per year.
Prime members get unlimited one-day and two-day delivery with no minimum order size and early access to some deals on Amazon.
In comparison, the rest of the users have to pay Rs 40 delivery charge for products that are priced less than Rs 499, or Rs 100 and Rs 80 respectively for one-day and two-day deliveries. Prime members can also opt for same-day delivery by just an extra charge of Rs 50 extra, which still is less than Rs 150 paid by the rest of the users.

Besides the delivery advantages, Amazon Prime members also get early access to deals on the e-commerce site. The e-commerce giant said in a report that deals can be accessed by the members up to 30 minutes before they are available for the rest of the buyers. When searching for deals members will need to select the ‘Prime Early Access’ filter in search to find lightning deals for the day.

Other benefits available to Prime members in the US are Amazon Video and Amazon Music, which is the shopping giant's video and music streaming services and is are not available in India, though Amazon has said that it will be coming soon.
