Saran Election Results 2024: Saran Lok Sabha witnessed a close contest between incumbent BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudi and RJD candidate Rohini Acharya. Rudi got 4,71,752 votes and defated Rohini by a margin of 13,661 votes. Rohini was polled 4,58,091 votes. Saran is one of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar. The state has 40 parliamentary seats. The Saran seat comprises 6 Assembly segments including Marhaura, Chapra, Garkha(sc), Amnour, Parsa, and Sonepur. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) are the main parties in the constituency. Saran constituency had historically been a stronghold for Lalu Prasad Yadav but it saw a shift in power to BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy after Yadav’s disqualification. Rudy, a former Union Minister, clinched victory in both the 2014 and 2019 elections, consolidating his position in the constituency.

What happened in 2014 and 2019 elections?
In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Rajiv Pratap Rudy from BJP won the seat and was polled 355,120 votes with a vote share of 41.12 per cent. RJD candidate Rabri Devi got 314,172 votes (36.38 %) and was the runner-up. Rajiv Pratap Rudy defeated Rabri Devi by a margin of 40,948 votes.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Rajiv Pratap Rudy from BJP won the seat with a margin of 138,411 votes. Rajiv Pratap Rudy was polled 499,986 votes with a vote share of 53.00 % and defeated Chandrika Roy from RJD who got 361,575 votes (38.32 %).
