Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday said that doctors have advised him to take three weeks of bed rest for back pain. Expressing pain, he showed the waist belt he was wearing for back pain. The former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister said that he has decided not to take a break from the Lok Sabha election campaign. Yadav, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, is currently engaged in a busy election campaign as the general elections are underway in the country.

Yadav has posted a video on X in which he was seen lifting his shirt during a rally to reveal a waist belt he is wearing due to back pain. RJD leader's assistants were also seen assisting him to rise as he spoke to the crowd at a rally.
'Doctors advised not to stand or walk'
"Due to unbearable lower back pain, I am moving around with pain-relieving injections and medicines. I have also put on a belt around my waist now. Doctors have advised three weeks of bed rest and not to stand or walk. Even in this condition, I am here for you," Yadav has said in an X post in Hindi.
He further said that Lok Sabha elections happen once in five years. "If I don't fight for you now, then you will have to suffer poverty, inflation and unemployment for five years. I will not rest till I ensure jobs for youth," he added.
Yadav has been conducting rallies in Bihar and other states where RJD candidates are participating in the elections. on Tuesday, he was in Jharkhand's Palamu to campaign for INDIA bloc candidate, RJD's Mamata Bhuiyan. Today, he is in Bihar's Jahanabad, where voting is scheduled for June 1. In his rallies yesterday, Yadav was observed sitting on a chair while addressing the crowd, apparently due to his backache.
Yadav gets MRI done for back pain
Yadav on the evening of May 6 got an MRI done at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) Hospital, Patna due to increasing back pain amidst campaigning for Lok Sabha elections.
According to the reports, Tejashwi Yadav has been suffering from pain in his spinal segment for the last 10 days. However, the pain increased unbearably in the last four days.
Notably, the RJD leader till the third phase of elections held 109 meetings. Despite deteriorating health, Tejashwi Yadav on Monday had participated in a public rally in Bihar's Siwan and Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj.
