Bihar Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: The counting of votes for the 40 seats in Bihar was held on June 4. The voting in the state was held in all seven phases from 19 April to 1 June to elect members of the 18th Lok Sabha. While the four constituencies went for polls in the first phase on April 19, five in the second phase on April 26, five in the third phase on May 7, five in the fourth phase on May 13, five in the fifth phase on May 20, eight in the sixth phase on May 25 and another eight in the last and seventh phase on June 1. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Janata Dal United, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress are the main parties in the state. This time the state witnessed a direct contest between the NDA and the I.N.D.I.A bloc candidates.
Litmus test for NDA and I.N.D.I.A
With a voter base deeply divided along caste and community lines, the elections was said to be litmus test for the ruling NDA as well as the Opposition bloc I.N.D.I.A. Key issues such as unemployment, rural development, and infrastructure were at the forefront, with leaders from all parties promising transformative change. As Bihar witnessed one of the most significant elections in its recent history, the outcomes here are poised to have a far-reaching impact on the national political landscape.
