Nitish Kumar-led Bihar govt announces to give 'unemployment allowance' to jobless youths in state | DETAILS

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led JDU-BJP coalition government in Bihar has made a significant decision aimed at benefiting the state's youths. During a cabinet meeting held on Friday evening, it was decided that the Bihar government will introduce an "unemployment allowance" for unemployed youth across the state. The cabinet, under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, approved the Bihar Unemployment Allowance Rules 2024, incorporating provisions under MNREGA.

What will be the process for allowance?

According to the newly approved rules, eligible individuals who remain unemployed after applying for jobs will receive a daily unemployment allowance from the state government if they do not secure employment within fifteen days of their application. This allowance aims to support individuals actively seeking employment by providing financial assistance within specified limits, starting from the date of their application.

Bihar Cabinet approves 25 agendas 

Following the Lok Sabha elections, a key meeting of the Council of Ministers was convened under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday. During this session, a total of 25 agendas were deliberated and subsequently approved by the Cabinet. It is noteworthy that Bihar is anticipated to hold assembly elections next year. In view of this, CM Kumar's decision, aimed at benefiting the youth of Bihar, is being hailed as a strategic move.
