Bihar floor test HIGHLIGHTS: Nitish Kumar wins trust vote with 129 votes in his favour as RJD stages walkout
Tejashwi Yadav, earlier, accused the Bihar Chief Minister of leaving the state in confusion for his political gains by switching sides. "We were not there for your entertainment, we were there to support you," the RJD leader said.
The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar won a vote of confidence in the assembly. The new government secured 129 votes amid a walkout by the opposition members. Altogether, 129 legislators voted in favour of the motion, but Kumar rose to suggest that the vote of Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari, who belongs to the JD(U), also be counted. Usually, the person in the Chair does not take part in voting, unless there is a tie. The Bihar assembly has a strength of 243 MLAs. Ahead of the Trust Vote of the new Bihar government, Nitish Kumar addressed the Bihar Assembly and slammed the RJD over its previous rule in the state.
