Sales for the scooter will begin first in Pune and Bengaluru before spreading out to the rest of the country. The launch will give a major boost to the EV sector in India. More two-wheeler makers are likely to follow Bajaj into entering the mainstream EV as technology and accessibility improve with time.

The Bajaj Chetak Electric comes in 2 variants -- Bajaj Chetak Urbane and Bajaj Chetak Premium. The two variants will cost Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.15 lakh respectively.
Bajaj Chetak Engine Specs
The Bajaj Chetak Electric will be powered by a 4kW motor that gives out 16Nm of peak torque. It comes with and IP67-rated 3kWh (48V, 60.3 AH) lithium-ion battery. The battery can be charged by a 15 amp electrical outlet.

Bajaj Chetak Battery
The Battery on the new Bajaj Chetak can be fully charged in 5 hours and upto 25 per cent in an hour. Bajaj is giving the charger complimentary with the scooter and can be installed anywhere as convinient to the costumer. Bajaj is claiming that the battery life is 70,000 km.

Bajaj is giving a warranty of 3 years or 50,000 km with the all-new Bajaj.

Bajaj recommends that the scooter be serviced within 1 year or 12,000 km whichever is earlier. Three free services will be provided with the scooter.
