Pradosh Vrat is observed at the time of Pradosh Kaal on Trayodashi Tithi. Know  Date, Shubh Muhurat, Puja Vidhi and other details to keep in mind while offering prayers to Lord Shiva.

Pradosh Vrat 2022: Pradosh Vrat is observed on Trayodashi Tithi of every month. There is a law to observe the Pradosh fast twice in a month. Firstly on Trayodashi of Krishna Paksha and secondly on Trayodashi of Shukla Paksha. Lord Shankar is worshiped in every Pradosh. This time Ravi Pradosh will be observed on June 12.  According to Acharya Indu Prakash, the first prahar of the night i.e. the time after sunset is called Pradosh Kaal. It is said that the person who worships Lord Shiva on this day gets rid of all sinful deeds and attains virtue. On this day something must be offered to Lord Shiva in the first prahar of the night. Pradosh Vrat is done on Trayodashi Tithi at the time of Pradosh Kaal. Apart from this, Pradosh Vrat is named according to the day on which Pradosh occurs. This time Pradosh falling on Sunday is known as Ravi Pradosh. 

Pradosh Vrat Subh Muhurat

Ravi Pradosh is an auspicious time for worship from 07:19 pm to 09:20 pm. Ravi Yoga is from 11:58 pm at night to 05:23 am in the next morning. 

Ravi Pradosh Vrat Puja Vidhi

  1. After getting up in Brahma Muhurta and completing all work, make a resolution of this fast by remembering Lord Shiva.
  2. Take a bath an hour before sunset and wear white clothes in the evening. 
  3. After this, make a place of worship in a secluded place in the northeast. 
  4. For this, first purify that place with Gangajal and then apply it with cow dung. 
  5. Now prepare the square by mixing the shape of Padma flower with five colors. 
  6. After this you worship Lord Shiva by sitting in Kush's seat in the north-east direction. 
  7. Do Jalabhishek to Lord Shiva and keep on chanting Om Namah Shivay. 
  8. After this, offer Bel leaves, Gandha, Akshat (rice), flowers, incense, lamp, Naivedya (Bhog), fruits, betel leaves, betel nut, cloves and cardamom. 
  9. After bathing again in the evening, worship Shiva in the same way.
  10. Do Shodashopachar Puja of Shiva, in which Lord Shiva is worshiped with sixteen ingredients. 
  11. Offer barley sattu mixed with ghee and sugar to Lord Shiva. Light eight lamps in eight directions.
  12. Do salutations while holding the lamp eight times. 
  13. Perform Shiva aarti. Shiv stotra, chant the mantra.
