NEW YORK (AP) — Hollywood heavyweights like Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Jonah Hill turned out to honor legendary director Martin Scorsese for both his cinematic influence and his efforts to preserve and restore classic films for later generations.

Also attending the 11th annual Film Benefit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York were Emily Mortimer, Drew Barrymore, Spike Lee and many others.

Hill gave one of the most poignant speeches, with his revelation that while most kids adorn their walls with superheroes, his own wall had a photo of Scorsese on it when he was growing up.

And DiCaprio told the crowd that when he was 15, his father took him to a screening of "Goodfellas," and he resolved right there to one day work with Scorsese. The two are about to begin their sixth film together.
