ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkish media reports say a police officer has opened fire inside a police station in northern Turkey, wounding the local police chief and three other officers.
Private DHA news agency said the attack occurred Tuesday in the Black Sea coastal city of Rize.
Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu confirmed to reporters that the police chief was hurt in the attack and was hospitalized in serious condition. He did not provide further details.
NTV television reported that the assailant has been caught, but provided no details.
