JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — And the winner is ... the "N'' or the "A''?
That was the question posed by the operator of the Holland Tunnel into New York after motorists complained about the placement of a decoration shaped like a Christmas tree.
The tree and two circular wreaths have adorned the tunnel for years. But some say having the tree over the "N'' in "Holland" could be a trigger for people with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Others say it's just plain ugly and say the "A'' is more appropriate for the tree.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey commissioned a poll last week. It's scheduled to release the results Monday.
Executive Director Rick Cotton says the authority will act based on what the public wants. He said a design competition is possible for next year.
