NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Mathew Barzal scored on a his own rebound after being stopped on a breakaway at 3:40 of overtime and the New York Islanders beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 on Friday.

Jordan Eberle, Anders Lee and Nick Leddy also scored to help the Islanders snap a two-game losing streak and beat the Devils for the second time this season. Thomas Greiss made 39 saves.

Taylor Hall, Brian Boyle and Marcus Johansson scored for the Devils, and Keith Kinkaid made 31 saves. They lost for only the second time in regulation in 11 home games (7-2-2).

With the Devils' net empty, Marcus Johansson it at 3l with 11 seconds to play on somewhat of a lucky play. Hall flubbed a slap shot from the top of the right circle and the puck rolled to the Swedish forward as the side of the net. Greiss stopped his first shot, but he batted the second out of the air into the net.

Leddy had given the Islanders a 3-2 lead with his first goal of the season. It came after a highlight reel length-of-the-ice rush with 7:15 to play on which he put in his own rebound.

New Jersey tied it at 2l early in the third period when Boyle deflected Blake Coleman's shot past Greiss. The forward was activated earlier in the day after missing five games with an upper-body injury.

The Islanders had taken leads of 1-0 and 2-1 in this second meeting of the season against New Jersey.

Eberle put New York ahead the first time, backhanding his own rebound past Kinkaid at 7:24 of the first period after being set up in front by Anthony Beauvillier.

Hall tied it an unassisted goal at 11:48 of the second period. Greiss stopped his first attempt after a turnover near the crease by the reigning NHL MVP put his own rebound into the net for his seventh goal.

The tied didn't last long. Less than three minutes later, Lee scored his seventh of the season after being set up by Valtteri Filppula on Kinkaid's doorstep.

It wasn't Josh's Bailey's day. The New York forward was stopped on two great chances in the first period and lost a goal in the second when the Devils won a challenge because Barzal of New York was offside on a 3-on-2 odd-man rush.
