New Delhi, Mar 6 : The Australian squad was today bolstered after the Event Technical Committee approved the induction of senior batsman Michael Hussey in place of an injured Doug Bollinger. According to a media release, "The ICC has confirmed the Event Technical Committee of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 has approved Mike Hussey as a replacement player for the injured Doug Bollinger in the Australia squad for the tournament."
Bollinger returned home last week after he failed to recuperate from an ankle injury. The 35-year-old Hussey has played 151 ODIs for Australia having scored 4469 runs at an average of 51.96. Bollinger is the 13th player to be replaced in the tournament. Incidentally, it Mike's younger sibling David who had told the media about his brother being fit and ready to play in the World Cup. PTI
