Mumbai: The RSS-affiliated think tank Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini has devised a course for young professionals desirous of working as personal assistants to BJP MLAs and ministers in Maharashtra, where the party has come to power.
"The idea is to break the nexus between office staff of ministers and contractors", Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, director general of the think tank told Bangalore Mirror.
"Once we put in place new staff members who know their job, it will help curb any malpractices and corruption.
"In most cases, while ministers change, the lower bureaucracy continues to remain in power.We want to break this vicious cycle," Sahasrabuddhe said.
RMP's course for placing people with BJP MPs had received a good response with around 50 successful placements, the newspaper reported. The one-week course will be launched within a month's time.
The course will not only focus on state-related issues, but also introduce the students to top RSS leaders like Deendayal Upadhyaya, Dr Shyam Prasad Mukherjee (former Jana Sangh chiefs) and Dr KB Hedgewar (founder chief of RSS).
It will also touch upon office management, reference and documentation, research, public relations, media relations and constituency management.
Party sources said the new BJP government in Maharashtra has decided to remove all existing personal assistants and private secretaries.
The party has asked ministers to get fresh staff on board from within the government establishment and recruit new office staff, preferably from the Sangh network.
According to government rules of business, every minister gets one officer on special duty (OSD), one PA and one PS all paid for by the government. Out of the three, at least two are government employees, while one of them can be recruited privately.
Similarly all legislators can hire one private assistant whose salary is paid by the government.
