New Delhi, Mar 3: The Indian origin writer, Salman Rushdie's name has been included in the Al-Qaeda's most wanted list. The terrorist organization, Al-Qaeda has declared a reward of Rs. 20 crores for getting hold of Rushdie dead or alive.




Al-Qaeda revealed a list of people who disparage Islam and Rushdie's name has been included with the wrongdoers.

Previously, a Fatwa was issued against Rushdie for his book `Satanic verses' by Iranian leader Ayatollah Khomeini in 1989.

Al-Qaeda's online magazine `Inspire' has issued the list which demands for the head of Indian-origin author. This magazine in banned in most parts of the world and is published in Middle East Media Research Institute which is based in Washington DC. The article published in Inspire magazine says "Defend Prophet Muhammad. Peace be upon him." "Wanted: Dead or Alive for Crimes Against Islam''.

Apart from Rushdie the list also carries the name of American priest Terry Jones who burned the Holy Quran on the anniversary of 9/11 attacks.
