Brisbane: Russian President Vladimir Putin looks all set to leave the summit early after he had a 'tense' meeting with British premier David Camerom, according to a report published in The Telegraph' of London. The meeting witnessed heated exchange between the two leaders over Russia's actions in Ukraine.
Putin is likely to leave early on Sunday and he has almost decided to miss the official lunch in view of incessant criticism over Ukraine from western leaders.
Putin had acrimonious encounter with many western diplomats.
Cameron is believed to have warned Putin that he could face further sanctions from the west. He went on to say that Russia is risking its relationship with west by supporting separatists in Ukraine.
Tony Abott, Australian PM, had threatened to "shirt front" Mr Putin.
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper reportedly told the Russian President "I guess I'll shake your hand, but I'll only have one thing to say to you - get out of the Ukraine."
Vladimir Putin, on his part, denied that Russian troops ever entered Ukraine and went on to say that he is prepared to accept a ceasefire and stop the flow of Russian weapons across the border. He is also believed to have expressed his readiness to recognise Ukraine as a "single political space".
