New Delhi: A 25-year-old man was burnt to death after his car caught fire. The incident was reported from Prahladpur area of north-east Delhi.
The cause of the fire is not known yet but cops suspect that a short circuit might have caused the fire. This is the second such incident in a week.
The man, identified as Atul Aggarwal's Maruti SX4 went up in flames near a shooting range in the area. According to an eyewitness, the car was coming from Surajkund and was going towards Badarpur.
The driver stopped the car after the engine had caught fire. He tried to get out of the vehicle but the door did not open and the seat belt got stuck.
Locals tried to help but the fire spread rapidly, charring the driver along with the car.
The body has been sent for postmortem to a local hospital. Cops added they are trying to contact the address provided in the registration of the vehicle to establish the identity of the driver.
