Chennai: The first teaser of superstar Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil gangster drama "Kabali" was unveiled on Sunday on the occasion of the International Labour Day.
The much-awaited teaser created a sensation among his fans and superstar frenzy took over the social media and trended #KabaliTrailer for the whole day.
As a result, the teaser went on make a new Asian record by garnering 5 million views within 24 hours.
The 67-second teaser introduces viewers to Rajinikanth's character Kabali, who goes on to say that he is no stereotypical gangster, in a whistle-worthy dialogue.
Sporting John Lennon glasses and three-piece suit, the 65-year-old is referred to as "fire".

Towards the end of teaser, there's a shot of Rajinikanth from the 1970s, where he's seen walking out of a restaurant, flipping his hair back in the most inimitable fashion.
Rajinikanth plays an ageing don in the film, which is directed by Pa. Ranjith. The film also stars Radhika Apte, Kalaiarasan, Dinesh and Ritwika.
