New Delhi: Actor Chandrachur Singh, who is long gone from the silver screen is eyeing a comeback; but this time with television. Media reports have it that Chandrachur has been approached for an important role in ‘Maharaja Ranjit Singh’ which will be aired on Life Ok.
The epic drama is being made by the same team whose brainchildren were shows like ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’, ‘Maharana Pratap’ and ‘Asoka’. Apart from Chandrachur, actors Eijaz Khan, Anuradha Patel , Sneha Wagh have already shot the pilot for the serial.
As far as Chandrachur Singh is concerned, he will be playing the role of a close friend of Ranjit Singh's grandfather Charat Singh. Incidentally, Chandrachur is the brother of producer Abhimanyu Singh , who is part of Contiloe Pictures; the production house behind the serial.

For all those who loved Chandrachur’s smile and boyish innocence in films Josh, Daag: The Fire; will get to see it once again in the serial. As far as innocence is mentioned; maybe that will be lost given the personality of the character.
Chandrachur Singh had stepped into Bollywood in 1996 with movie ‘Tere Mere Sapne’. However, it was Maachis, which released the same year, which got him recognition. The film was helmed by Gulzar and it showed the evolvement of Chandrachur’s character from a boy-next-door to a dreaded terrorist during the Sikh insurgency in Punjab.
