Pablo made a place in world's richest people list of Forbes magazine at number 7 after his estimated assets were calculated to be around 30 billion dollars. He owned a fleet of luxury cars and mansions.

He tried making a place for himself in the polity of Columbia by offering 10 billion dollars to wave off the debt on the country. His lavish lifestyle went up to this extent that after his arrest a separate luxury jail had to be constructed for his stay.
