Special Judge S. Lal pronounced the sentence at 4:30 pm.
The judge announced that the couple will serve life imprisonment under Sec 302 (murder) Indian Penal Code, alongwith Rs 10,000 fine each.
The court also sentenced the couple five years imprisonment under Section 201 IPC with fine amounting to Rs 5,000 each.
The dentist couple were immediately rushed from the court to Dasna jail, where they were lodged in separate barracks with prisoner badges.
Dr Rajesh Talwar was allotted prisoner no 9342 and lodged in barrack no 11 with 11 other prisoners.
Dr Nupur Talwar was allotted prisoner no 9343 and lodged in barrack no 13 with 35 female prisoners.
