The girl (name withheld) was being persuaded by a neighbour Ashu to marry since last several months. On Tuesday, she was called by Ashu's family, where she was beaten and forced to drink acid, said Gyanendra Kumar, CO, Kotwali.
The victim somehow managed to return home and was rushed to Aligarh Medical College, where she died.
Police have registered a case against five persons.
